Default Feeding My Fish Fresh Seaweed any negatives ?

As per my last posted discussion with you guys, I find that my refugium is overloaded with Algea. So... I'm feeding a bit of it to my tangs every night !

Questions:

1) When the tangs chew at it, it almost seems to ooooze a cloudy liquid.... will this discolor my water ?

2) any negatives to feeding em this stuff ? My intuition is that its got to be good for them, but I thought I'd ask.
